Procurement Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Act as a point of contact and manage relationships for all suppliers, contract manufacturers, and key partners.

  2. Identify potential suppliers based on project requirements, organization needs, and consistency with supplier quality management program (certification of new suppliers, supplier scorecard, and other activities required for regulatory compliance).

  3. Issue RFQs or RFPs.

  4. Negotiate contracts, terms, and deadlines.

  5. Process purchase orders to acquire goods (and manage approval process).

  6. Receive invoices and work with finance to make payments.

  7. Attend meetings as needed with leadership, cross-functional team, and suppliers.

  8. Provide input and direction on selection and implementation of new ERP/MRP system or other procurement software.

  9. Optimize workflows and automation processes to save time and money.

  10. Manage stock and inventory planning.

  11. Diligently seek alternate source of supply, substitutes materials, or new methods to achieve cost savings.

  12. Perform risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements.

  13. Perform other duties as assigned.

  14. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and laws including MRDD (magnetic resonance diagnostic devices) and FDA standards for class II medical devices.

Key Competencies:

  1. Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form.

  2. Strong knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques.

  3. Ability to negotiate contracts.

  4. Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  5. Strong financial acumen.

  6. Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously.

  7. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage and influence effectively with key stakeholders.

  8. Experience using purchasing software and tools (ERP, inventory management, material requirement planning, etc.)

  9. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, et cetera).

  10. Understanding of regulatory and quality guidelines for medical devices preferred.

 

Required Education and Experience:

  1. B.S. degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration or similar.

  2. Five or more years of related experience.

 

Work Location:

This is a full-time exempt role that is on-site at 1105 Western Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio. Core business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm. The responsibilities of this position do not allow for a remote work schedule.

 

Other Considerations:

  • This position reports to Finance. It does not have any direct reports.

  • This position requires up to 10% travel; international travel is not expected.

    • Must be able to move about consistently throughout the work day.

    • Must be able to file, reach, bend, stoop, and/or stand on a stool intermittently throughout the work day.

    • Must be able to push, pull, lift or otherwise move up to 50 pounds utilizing proper body mechanics and assistive equipment.

    • Must be able to push, pull, or move a minimum of 50 pounds utilizing proper body mechanics and assistive equipment.
